The GENERATE tab contains all components used to create new geometry or concept designs.
It includes generative design methods (Topology Weaving, Topology Optimization, Topological Enclosure) and basic geometric primitives.

Generative Design
Topological Enclosure
Builds one closed, continuous body that connects and encloses the functional regions you select, kept inside the design space. Use it to turn a set of interfaces — bearing seats, bosses, mounting pads — into a single manufacturable part without modelling the connecting material by hand.
Inputs
- Functional Regions Surfaces (Mesh) — The surfaces that must be preserved and joined together: bores, mounting faces, bolt interfaces. The enclosure is built around these.
- Design Space (Mesh) — The volume the part is allowed to occupy. The result never extends past it, so use it to enforce packaging and clearance limits.
Parameters
- Wrapping Strength (mm — default 20) — How far the enclosure reaches across empty space to join separate regions. The value is roughly the widest gap that will be closed: openings narrower than this are filled in, wider ones stay open. Increase it if the result comes out as disconnected lumps; decrease it if the part looks bloated or has swallowed a pocket you need to keep.
- Functional Regions Thickness (mm — default 5) — Material added around each functional surface before the enclosure is built. This becomes the wall left around a bore or under a mounting pad. Set it from the minimum wall thickness of your process.
- Blend Radius (mm — default 1, range 0.1–100) — Fillet radius where the enclosure meets the functional regions. Larger values give a smoother, lower-stress transition; keep it small when the interface faces must stay crisp.
Outputs
- Mesh out: The generated enclosure.
Tips
- The level of detail you get is limited by the resolution set on Compute 3D Model. Explore at Coarse/Medium, then confirm the final shape at Fine.
- Wrapping Strength and Functional Regions Thickness interact: thick regions already close small gaps on their own, so you usually need less Wrapping Strength.
