The ANALYZE tab contains all components used to assign materials, define simulation conditions, evaluate manufacturability, compute cost and CO₂ metrics, and extract simulation fields. These tools allow you to validate designs, quantify performance, and send analysis results to the Design Explorer.

Material & Component Definition
Material Library
Provides a set of predefined materials (Metals, Polymers, Other).
‣
Outputs
- Material: Selected material object.
Custom Material
Defines a material that is not in the library — a specific alloy, a filled polymer, or a printed material with measured properties.
Inputs
- Material (Isotropic or Orthotropic — default Isotropic) — Leave on Isotropic. Orthotropic is present in the list but is not yet handled by the solver.
- Name — Used to identify the material in results and reports. Give it a real designation, not “Material 1”.
Mechanical properties
- Density (kg/m3) (default 2000) — Drives the mass, and therefore the cost, CO₂ and weight-saving figures. Note the unit: steel is about 7850, aluminium 2700, ABS 1040.
- Elastic Modulus (GPa) (default 50) — Stiffness. Steel is about 210, aluminium 70, ABS 2.3. This governs deflection, so an error here shows up directly in the displacement results.
- Poisson Ratio (default 0.3) — How much the material contracts sideways when stretched. Around 0.3 for metals, 0.35–0.4 for most polymers.
- Yield Strength (MPa) (default 150) — The stress at which the material starts to deform permanently. Used as the reference when results are compared against an allowable.
